The Provisional Press is a press built from layered plywood, cut on a laser cutter, and commonly available hardware, nut and bolts, etc. Provisional Press printing basics (https://www.provisionalpress.com/printing-basics-information) etchin
The Open Press Project supplies 3d models to print a small etching press. I have printed and put together one of these. I still need to get the wool blankets and the rest of the supplies.
Of course, the simplest solution is to hand print linocut or woodcut blocks. You can get the ink onto the block any simple way you can, inexpensive brayers are widely available. You can then impress the image using any number of methods, including the back of a wooden spoon.
A wood and threaded rod book press is also pretty accessible. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWintBboXFU)
Even this simple folding press would be great to experiement! (http://world.std.com/%7Edeanb/zgg/block_press.html)
